I would just like to extend a special thank you to friends of Ed for giving me the chance to stop working for a little bit and write down for you some of my thoughts and ideas. New Masters of Flash has collected together some of the finest web artists that I know, who’ve given you, I hope, more than a few  “Aah.. that’s how you do it” revelations. I want to round off this book with something a little different. I want to show you the way I think, not only the process but also the mentality of why I build the things that I build. I’d like to set you thinking in maybe a different way yourself so that you can turn what you’ve learnt here into something that you’ve never done before. 
Get ready for a little science, some math, some models of CHAOS, a little bit on nature, fractals and, something that’s important to me, UI. UI can be user interface, user interaction, or more interestingly, you and I — the relationship between two things that hardly know that the other exists.
